Outlook – Put emails sent from shared mailbox in shared mailbox sent items .

I have spent some time on trying to get shared mailboxes to work correctly. We want a solution so when an email is sent from a shared mailbox, the sent email goes into the shared mailbox sent folder, rather than the user’s sent folder. For Office 365 there is a simple solution, but for Exchange you might need a registry change which can be used for Office 2010, 2013 and 2016 .

Outlook instant search functionality not working.

I have been investigating an issue where Outlook instant search is not working. The environment is a Windows 2012 remote desktop server with Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2016 on premise. When you try to do a search nothing happens. The list of emails in the folder stays the same. After an intensive search, most of the results were for users getting limited results, but this was different. If you try to change the search functionality to search “All Outlook Items” it returns with a error “Cannot display the folder”

There are more results available than are currently displayed

There are more results available than are currently displayed in Exchange 2013 or 2016 ECP The Problem When you try to view Organisational Units or public folders and you have more than 500, not all are visible and you get the message “There are more results available than are currently displayed”. This is because Microsoft have limited the results to 500 and you cannot get more results. The Solution On the Exchange server navigate to the Exchange install folder then \ClientAccess\ECP.

Exchange 2013 Uninstall Error – generating an offline address book

“This mailbox server is responsible for generating an offline address book” I was trying to uninstall Microsoft Exchange 2013 after moving to Exchange 2016 but kept getting the error “This mailbox server is responsible for generating an offline address book” in the Readiness checks. I ran ‘Get-Mailbox – Arbitration’ to verify all the mailboxes had been moved. Nothing appeared to be pointing at the old server and I could not find any mailboxes on the server. In the end, I ran ADSIEdit and found under Configuration > services> Microsoft Exchange > First Organisation> Address List Container > Offline Address Lists that the Offline Address Book had a reference to the…
