Outlook – Save sent items in shared mailbox – solution for Office 365 and Exchange.
I have spent some time on trying to get shared mailboxes to work correctly. We want a solution so when an email is sent from a shared mailbox, the sent email goes into the shared mailbox sent folder, rather than the user’s sent folder. For Office 365 there is a simple solution, but for Exchange* you might need a registry change which can be used for Office 2010, 2013 and 2016 .

Hyper-V move between similar hardware fails.

When I tried to move the server, I got the following error: “The Virtual Machine cannot be moved to the destination computer. The hardware on the destination computer is not compatible with the hardware requirements of this virtual machine. “

Outlook instant search functionality not working – Cannot display the folder.
I have been investigating an issue where Outlook instant search is not working. The environment is a Windows 2012 remote desktop server with Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2016 on premise. When you try to do a search nothing happens. The list of emails in the folder stays the same. After an intensive search, most of the results were for users getting limited results, but this was different. If you try to change the search functionality to search “All Outlook Items” it returns with a error “Cannot display the folder”

Domain Name Front Running
Domain Name Front Running I have just been the victim of Domain Name Front Running. I did not even know it existed, or I had been a victim until it happened again and I was sure it wasn’t a coincidence…. I had a domain name “stolen” from me as I tried to purchase it. What is Domain Name Front Running Domain front running is when you search for a domain name to purchase but do not buy straight away, and a company registers the name and then tries to sell at auction or through a buy now for several thousands of pounds/dollars.

ShadowProtect ImageManager HeadStart Restore with HyperV
If you are using StorageCraft ShadowProtect and ImageManager, here are the steps to recover a server to a Hyper-V environment. Background: ShadowProtect runs on each server you want to back up, and Image Manager manages the backup storage location. Image Manager can also run “HeadStart Restore” jobs. This basically keeps a VMWare (vmdk) or HyperV (vhd(x)) hard drive copy of your backup and restores each incremental backup to this hard drive, keeping it up to date (or as up to date as your policy defines, it may be 1 hour, 1 day or longer behind the server it is backing up).
